Our track record

2020–2025: community reach, relationships and learning

During its first five years, ActionReach built community relationships and contributed to child-focused work across health and nutrition, education and child protection. The period was shaped by an emergency-response context and by practical learning about why some children remain outside essential services even where services are available.

This record is the foundation for the next phase. It does not claim that every measurement practice used from 2020 to 2025 was identical to those being strengthened from 2026 onwards.

Reported counts, 2020–2025

14,102children reached through health and nutrition
3,577children reached through education
3,465children reached through child protection

Health & Nutrition14,102Children reached through health and nutrition activities
Education3,577Children reached through education activities
Child Protection3,465Children reached through child-protection activities
Total of area counts21,144Sum of reported programme-area counts, not a count of unique children

Measurement note: the 21,144 total is the sum of the three programme-area counts. It represents children reached by area of support and should not be described as a deduplicated count of unique children unless individual records confirm that children have been counted only once.

The transition in one glance

From community reach to structured last-mile delivery

2020–2025 · Community reach and learning2026–2031 · Structured last-mile delivery
Church and community relationships helped find children who were isolated or overlooked.Community identification feeds into a consistent child-specific pathway.
Support was recorded across health and nutrition, education and child protection areas.A secure record and agreed plan help connect the different actions around a child.
Experience revealed recurring barriers: missing records, costs, incomplete referrals and lack of follow-up.Named actions, responsible parties and timelines make follow-through more explicit.
The focus was on emergency response and reaching children. The focus adds outcome verification, responsible closure and follow-up.
Learning was built through direct community experience.Learning is increasingly captured systematically and used to improve delivery.
2026–2031 commitments

Four impact results we are working towards

The plan organises results around four linked outcomes. Together, they describe what ActionReach seeks to contribute to in the life of a child, not simply the number of activities completed. The figures below are forward-looking targets for 30 June 2031, not achievements.

Impact Result 1 · Legal identity27,400*

children under five with confirmed birth registration across the funded Plan areas

A target for children whose registration and legal identity outcome is confirmed using appropriate evidence.

TARGET
Impact Result 2 · Health and nutrition16,000

children completing agreed health or nutrition care

A target for completed care pathways or agreed care actions, not referrals alone.

TARGET
Impact Result 3 · Education and learning8,000

children with education barriers resolved

A target for children with verified progress against an agreed education barrier or outcome.

TARGET
Impact Result 4 · Child protection and family resilience10,000

children safe and thriving with verified progress

A target for children with verified progress against agreed protection or family-resilience outcomes.

TARGET

*Funded Scenario A target for children under five across the Plan areas, refined in October 2026. The baseline, geographic scope and indicator definitions will be published with the approved methodology. These are targets for 30 June 2031, not achievements, and will be updated only when approved monitoring data are available.

The plan also describes an ambition to reach 40,000 children directly by 2031, each counted once, and an overall benefit ambition of 150,000 children through direct support and strengthened systems. These are kept separate: direct reach and wider system-level benefit are different concepts and are not added together.

How we verify progress

Checking what happened, not only what we attempted

  • We use clear definitions for each indicator and each result.
  • We maintain one secure child record and consistent counting rules.
  • We document the child-specific plan and agreed actions.
  • We record the difference between awareness, identification, referral, application, service received and verified outcome.
  • We use evidence appropriate to the outcome and protect confidential information.
  • We follow up at approximately three and six months where relevant, safe and appropriate.
  • We review data regularly for completeness, duplication, bias and unexplained changes.
  • We report limitations and changes in definitions transparently.

We do not publish identifiable child-level data or sensitive case details. Current-year verified results will be published separately from historical figures and targets, with the reporting period and last-updated date, as approved monitoring data become available.
